April Showers....
Today it snowed!!! The mountains and hills around Salt Lake City look like they have been sprinkled with powdered sugar.
In my "infinite wisdom" I threw away my wintercoat when I moved to California....
Needless to say, I regret that now!!!

The wanderer
So I am back in Salt Lake City. Southern California job didn't work out. Sad, but true. So I am once again starting over... job search, housing search, etc.
Fortunately I am blessed and the Lord is watching over me. I am greatful for so many things in my life, and though I feel like the rug has been pulled out from under me, I am looking forward to new beginnings and new adventures.
Sometimes the road takes us places and we think we know exactly where it's taking us... then there is a bend in the road, a turn, maybe crossing some paths that look familiar or even rivers and streams... and then you end up nowhere near what you thought or imagined... this is what LIFE is.... as Robert Frost said so poignantly...
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

More pictures from the Happiest Place on Earth
My favorite Princess, Cinderella!!!!
Donald Duck's boat!!!
The Beauty and the Beast Float
Miriam and me outside one of the Mad Hatter stores... where I purchased my beautiful red Minnie Hat (the one I am wearing in the picture)
In the middle of Toontown was a lovely fountain, and there was Mickey directing the music... Right as this picture was taken I stepped on something that made the fountain play music, so my look of surprise comes from that... :)
This day was such a fantastic day. I still can't believe it happened and have to pinch myself to make sure it did. Fortunately the pictures help too!!! :)

Week of firsts
So I had a few "firsts" this last week....
It started out as a bad week.... you see, I thought I'd be smart and eat the leftovers from easter... turned out I gave myself food poisoning and was miserable all week. Nausia, throwing up, heart-burn and awful pain in my esophagus... needless to say, I was miserable! And if I don't ever see another Saltine cracker it won't be too soon!
Allthough, I have a new theory on why the US has the most number of obese people in the world. Because, as I was miserable, the only thing I could really do was to sit/lie still and watch the telly, and it struck me how many adds/commercials are about food and/or restaurants.... We are being BOMBARDED from every angle and that is my theory for why we have so many people with weight issues..... we actually create food addicts!!!
But I degress, this post was supposed to be about my firsts.... so after my rotten week, Laura treated me to a fabulous full spa-treatment pedicure. It was my first time EVER, and I LOVED it. I am totally hooked, it was faulous, and my toes have never looked this fashionable. The toenails are now chocolatey brown with pink polkadots! I love just looking at them and wiggling them..... he he he
Another first was the pleasure of watching conference on my very own computer... yay, and a MILLION THANKS to Lauras' brother Adrian, who gave me the computer!!! Also, my very first one.
And then, the biggest FIRST of all...... a childhood dream come true, an event 30 years in the making..... the first trip to D I S N E Y L A N D.....
Pictures and stories to follow in the next little while, and in the meantime, I am going to revel in my firsts and the pure joy of "the happiest place on earth"
